In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“the Act”) and its regulations, this notice is issued to all our valued clients and/ or prospective clients. This Notice will inform you of your rights with regards to your personal data that has been and/ or will be, collected and processed by us.

We have collected and will collect your personal data to be processed by us and/ or on your behalf in the course of your present or future dealings with Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. (NPG). Your personal data enables us to achieve the “Purpose” herein that is in connection with our business.

  7. Images (still/recording);
  8. Sensitive personal data; and any
  9. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) defined by international privacy laws or standards.

4. Purpose for collection of data

Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. Will use clients’ personal for the following purposes including but not limited to:

  • For communicating with you and responding any enquiries from you in relation to NPG through any legitimate modes of communication;
  • For internal administrative purposes including talent and human resources administrative functions and activities;
  • For discharging NPG’s statutory functions including but not limited to provision of training and education;
  • For performance of NPG’s membership and education functions/operations including but not limited to incorporating your Personal Data into our databases for assessment/recording of your technical competencies through respective testing programme, for verification/providing information on your educational qualifications, for verification/ providing information on your professional membership with us or other professional bodies, for researches/ surveys, for sending you membership related materials or publications such as newsletters, journals, booklets, articles and other updates;
  • For performance of NPG’s professional development functions/operations including but not limited to matters relating to events, training programmes, conferences, seminars, workshops or talks organized or sponsored by NPG;
  • For compliance of any obligations and/or regulatory requirements applicable to NPG’s nature of operation under any laws, rules, regulations, by-laws, national policies or court orders including by providing information to the enforcement agencies, regulatory/statutory bodies and other government agencies for any lawful purposes such as enforcement or preparation of any statistic;
  • For pursuing any legitimate interest of NPG which includes recovery of any sums due to NPG (if applicable); and
  • For any other purposes that are incidental or ancillary to any of the above purposes.
  • NPG may also use and process your data for communicating or disseminating to you:
    1. Information on NPG membership privileges/ benefits including by sending any marketing/ promotional materials from our strategic partners or any interested third parties to you;
    2. Information on events, training programmes, seminars, conferences, workshops and talks organized by other organizations to fulfil your Continuing Professional Development requirements and which may be of interest to you; and
    3. Publications such as newsletters, journals, booklets, articles and other updates by other professional bodies, NPG strategic partners or any interested third parties which may be of interest to you.

5. Sources of personal data

Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. may obtain client’s personal data from the following sources including but not limited to at any events, seminars, road shows, customer satisfaction surveys organised or sponsored by NPG and/or from the cookies used on the Site. We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

  1. filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise;
  2. create an account on our website;
  3. contact us through the website or otherwise (by post, email or phone);
  4. request marketing to be sent to you;
  5. place an order with us for products or services;
  6. enter a competition, promotion or survey;
  7. give us some feedback.

6. Disclosure of personal data

We may disclose client’s personal data to other subsidiaries within our group. These subsidiaries will treat client’s personal data as confidential, in accordance with this Privacy Policy and with all applicable Data Protection legislation and will process such personal data only for the Purpose and within the terms set out herein. We are responsible for the personal data under our control, including personal data disclosed to a Vendor (often referred to as the “data processor”). Is committed to complying with the Personal Data Protection Act 2021, in particular, its policies as well corresponding guidelines and orders.

Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. Uses strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access wherever possible. Personal data provide to Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. via our website or any application, online credit card transaction are protected during transit using encryption such as Transport Layer Security (TLS). When personal data is stored by Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd., we use computer systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures. Data stored in cloud services is in encrypted form including when we utilize third-party storage. The level of security of personal data which kept in a non-electronic environment are also treated with strict procedures and means.

Upon subscribing to our services, you will be receiving marketing and/or promotional emails or calls from us, which includes monthly promotions and information on future events. If you do not wish to receive any promotional news or calls, please click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email and you will be excluded from our newsletters and contacts.

11. Data subject’s obligations

It is necessary for Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. To collect and retain clients’ personal data. Therefore, it is also obligatory for clients to supply personal data to us in the most accurate manner. If clients do not provide us with personal data, Nursing Professional Group Sdn. Bhd. are unable to, process personal data on clients’ behalf, for the Purpose stated in clause 4 herein, or effectively render our services to the clients, and all relationships created or to be created between us shall be terminated and cease to be in effect immediately.

12. The rights of data subject

a) To request access to personal data

Clients have the right to request for access to personal data processed by us on with reasonable notice. Access requests can be made through online by filling up the Data Access Request Form.

b) To request correction of personal data

Clients have the right to request for correction and/or update of your personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated. Corrections requests can be made online by filling the Data Correction Request Form.

c) To limit processing of your personal data

Clients are entitled to limit our processing of personal data by expressly withdrawing the consent given previously, in each case, including for direct marketing purposes subject to any applicable legal restrictions, contractual conditions and within a reasonable time period.
